Ottawa Chinatown

The City of Ottawa has designated Somerset Street West between Rochester Street and Preston Street as an improvement area called the Somerset Street Chinatown Business Improvement Area (BIA). It is a membership-based, not-for-profit organization consisting of local businesses and commercial property owners, working together towards a stronger and more competitive commercial district- known as the Ottawa Chinatown.

Be sure to check out all the really cool stores and wonderful restaurants in Ottawa's Chinatown!

We are grateful to Ottawa's Chinatown for their ongoing support.

covered bridge brewing

Local couple Katherine and John vanDyk long had the idea of chucking the rat race and starting their own microbrewery. In 2013, the dream was realized and Covered Bridge opened to rave reviews. Located in Stittsville, Covered Bridge handcrafts delicious beers especially for you. For great beer, they've got you covered! Located at #6-119 Iber Road in Stittsville, bottles and growlers are available for sale from the retail store Thursdays 3-7, Fridays 12-7, Saturdays 11-6 and Sundays noon-4.

As part of their desire to give back to the community, Katherine and John, along with their brewmaster, partnered with Chinatown Showboat to create a unique brew. This Single Malt, Single Hop "SMaSH" beer was christened "Paddle Smash" and the taps opened in May of 2015. Proceeds from the sale of this ale go to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation charities.

We are grateful to Covered Bridge Brewery for their enthusiasm to work with us to find ways to give back to the community.
